Holy flop, Batman! The premiere episode of Adam West's Fox sitcom, Danger Theatre, landed perilously near the bottom of the ratings last week (87th), even though it was one of the only new shows in sight. Summer reruns have infested the airwaves, with 13 of the week's top 20 Nielsen slots filled by previously broadcast programming. About the only other notable new shows were Fox's TV-movie clone of Groundhog Day, 12:01 (which landed in 69th place) and NBC's surveillance-camera snitchfest special, Caught in the Act (which came in second in its time slot, behind Home Improvement). The week's most disappointing showing: part One of the much-hyped repeat of NBC's A Woman Named Jackie miniseries, which finished a scandalous 78th.
