Conflict of Interest Judd Nelson, Christopher McDonald (1993, HBO, $89.99, R) So this is where formerly ubiquitous brat packer Nelson has ended up-over the top as bad guy Gideon, the murderous leader of a car-theft ring. Wearing huge sideburns, black eyeliner, and billowy pirate shirts, he looks like he belongs in a silent movie. The picture he's in, however, is the usual noise. McDonald plays the good guy, a troubled cop whose teenage son has fallen into Gideon's web. Too bad the more involved this movie gets, the less involved we become. C- -Michael Sauter
