Babes & Geezers

Older men dating younger women in film -- May-December romances are a new trend in films like ''Jurassic Park,'' ''The Firm,'' and more

Older men, younger women. In polite circles it's referred to as a May-December romance. But let's call a spade a spade: It's wrinkled geezers and fresh babes, it's Robert Redford and Demi Moore — and it's the real trend at the box office. Pairings include:

Jurassic Park
Geezer: Sam Neill, 45 Babe: Laura Dern, 26 Why him? He's a brainiac. Why her? She obviously has a thing for old bones. Is he worth the heartache? Only if he had points in the $271 million blockbuster.

The Firm
Geezer: Gene Hackman, 62 Babe: Jeanne Tripplehorn, 30 Why him? Dire straits. Why her? Those lips those eyes. Is he worth the heartache? What, and give up Tom Cruise?

In the Line of Fire
Geezer: Clint Eastwood, 63 Babe: Rene Russo, 38 Why him? His character's an irresistible nerd. Why her? She's got beautifully concealed weapons. Is he worth the heartache? We'll take a bullet for him any time.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Geezers: Sleepy, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sneezy, and Doc, old as the hills. (Dopey is the perpetual child — that's another chart.) Babe: Snow White, a teen Why them? An out-of-control Electra complex? Why her? She's so neat, so tidy, so nubile. Are they worth the heartache? Let's face it, sometimes size does matter.
