An inner-city superhero fantasy in which a mild-mannered teacher (writer-director Robert Townsend) gains powers and fights crime after he's struck by a glowing green meteor. The movie wears its community-action message like a proud chest logo, but the message ends up terribly mixed. How do you put across an antigun statement when the finale hinges on the good guys having more weapons than the bad guys?
