Mystery Dates

Movies un-scheduled for release -- ''Rapa Nui,'' ''Snake Eyes,'' and ''Skeezer'' are a few finished films waiting to debut

Tease, tease, tease. These movies are made, but the studios still haven't decided whether they'll drop in for a week or two in December. Dragon's Jason Scott Lee stars in Rapa Nui, a Kevin Costner-produced historical drama that's loosely based on a civil war on Easter Island — ''loosely'' because, when explorers discovered the island in 1722, there were no survivors left to tell the tale. Bad-boy director Abel Ferrara (Bad Lieutenant) brings us the eye-on- Hollywood drama Snake Eyes, in which Harvey Keitel is a director with marital woes, directing Madonna's and James Russo's characters in a movie about marital woes. And Wesley Snipes' latest has been called Skeezer, Harlem, and, more recently, Sugar Hill. Assuming Twentieth Century Fox picks a title, look for Snipes as a man caught in the nightmare of a drug empire he helped create.
