BUT CAN THEY SPELL POTATO?

As if it didn't have enough problems, NBC got the name of the world's most famous director wrong. In a commercial for seaQuest DSV, which aired during the Sept. 9 rerun of Seinfeld, the network misspelled the name of executive producer Steven Spielberg. (Attention seaQuest DSV staff: It's i before e) When contacted about the error, the network was in complete denial. ''It goes pretty fast,'' says a seaQuest DSV spokesman. ''You might have caught it wrong.'' (The tape shows we didn't.) And how did Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment react to news? ''Heads will roll,'' replied a spokeswoman, who didn't sound like she was kidding.
