Big Star Columbia: Live at Missouri University 4/25/93 (Zoo) Unlike other once-cool bands who come back from the dead to keep the pot boiling, '80s cult heroes Big Star re-formed last spring for a one-off show as a what-the-hell favor to some UMC kids. Of course, it's only two-fourths of the original Big Star (plus two Posies), but with Alex Chilton still fronting, why quibble? The vibes are loose, the playing spirited, and the selections from Big Star's songbook show why Chilton is patron saint to alternative geeks. A -Tom Sinclair
