GRACELAND: THE LIVING LEGACY OF ELVIS PRESLEY Chet Flippo (Collins, $45) If you're an Elvis fan who can't afford the trip to Memphis, this tome just might be your ticket. Graceland is a coffee-table volume that offers a gloriously photographed tour of the King's home, chock-full of Presley curiosities (from his torn pool table down to his car-insurance policy). In addition, Flippo's text provides useful background tales of Elvis' youth and his previous dwellings. There are some frustrating omissions, to be sure. Graceland (compiled with the cooperation of the Presley estate) denies the reader access to the private quarters where Elvis actually lived (bedrooms, kitchens) and died (the bathroom). Nevertheless, Graceland is a breathtaking document of a stately Southern mansion decorated in Cosmopolitan Hillbilly Trash. B+ -Bob Cannon
