Coming soon: 'A.I.', Schwarzenegger, and more sci-fi flicks

Planning: Mysterious auteur Stanley Kubrick is reportedly going to direct A.I. (short for artificial intelligence), a sci-fi drama depicting an Earth devastated by global warming. Expect up-to-the-minute special effects.

Threatening: Arnold Schwarzenegger will don sword and armor to play Hagen, an 11th-century knight, in Paul Verhoeven's spectacle Crusade. Expect lots of money to be spent.

Developing: The Mummy, that ancient wrap star (get it?), is being unwrapped for a third time. Joe Dante will direct a John Sayles and Alan Ormsby script inspired by the Karloff original but set in the present day....

Filming: Woody Allen's latest still doesn't have a title (natch), but the '20s period piece has been quietly shooting around Manhattan. John Cusack, Chazz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale), and Mary-Louise Parker star in the 1994 release.
