Wittier and more consistent than the first Addams Family movie. Paul Rudnick's script offers sharp-edged variations on the topsy-turvy Addams worldview, and it's much better at getting the Addamses out into the straight world, where they can really do some damage. This time, the clan has a new arrival, Pubert, an eerie-looking thing whom the other Addams children do the honor of attempting to kill. Meanwhile, Fester (Christopher Lloyd) becomes desperately infatuated with Pubert's gold-digging nanny (Joan Cusack), and in a richly malevolent segment Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) are sent to Camp Chippewa, a nightmare of upscale WASP cheerfulness. As before, Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia bring a dash of comic glamour to their roles.
