For a 7-year-old, T.J. Lowther has certainly gone far. In his two current films, A Home of Our Own and A Perfect World, the young actor moves across the country and lives on the lam with a kidnapper. Here, the Salt Lake City second grader gives his World view. EW: You had to fire a gun in the movie. How did you learn to shoot? T.J.: Clint and Kevin both taught me. Clint taught me the most because in Dirty Harry and all those other movies he fired guns.

EW: How did it feel for you to fire the gun? T.J.: Well, it was kind of fun to hear the sound after the gun. It was also fun to see myself really shooting a real gun.

EW: We heard that Kevin Costner's got a good sense of humor on the set. T.J.: I had a pet rat, and Clint would teach me what to feed him and Kevin would joke around with him. In the movie, Kevin had to smoke and he stuck cigarettes up his nose and pretended he was a walrus and had me scratch his belly.

EW: What do you think people who see the movie are going to like most? T.J.: I think they're going to like how it's adventurous and a lot of parts of it have action and I think they'll like Clint and Kevin and me and how it was in the '60s.

EW: Are there any other people you'd like to act with in the future? T.J.: I'd like to act with Paul Newman and Steven Spielberg and I'd like to work with Laura (Dern) again. She was really nice and I got to ask her about Jurassic Park. I haven't seen it. My mom says I have to be 13. That's quite a long time. -Chris Nashawaty
