Whether he's longing for the girl at the self-service gas station or lusting after a ''Trailer Mama,'' singer-guitarist Brian Henneman is more earnest than a house full of Waltons. He's also filled with deeper regrets, but the rugged music of this quartet on their self-titled album Bottle Rockets-which careens from Southern-rock-style rave-ups to the loveliest of steel-guitar-laced ballads- always pulls him back from the edge.
