Coproducer and codirector John Carpenter plays the undead host of this omnibus horror flick, an introduction to Showtime's series of the same name, Body Bags. The first story, ''The Gas Station'' is a standard menaced-by-serial-killer bit, while ''Hair,'' featuring Keach, is a clever poke at male vanity. The gruesome wrap-up, ''Eye'' (directed by Tobe Hooper), features a nasty performance by Hamill in a story that takes the evil-organ-transplant gimmick into the ocular realm. While the writing is often lame, the presentation is nothing less than stylish, neatly defining the difference between a time killer and a time waster. B-
