At first this densely plotted thriller seems admirably restrained; after a while, though, you realize Dirty Games is just plain dull. Granite-faced Vincent is here cast way against type as-get this-a ''controversial molecular physicist,'' whose experiments with nuclear-waste containment cause mucho international intrigue. Continental beauty Vargas is his former colleague (and lover), out to avenge the murder of her father. A few crass touches might have enlivened this snooze-a-rama. C-
