Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, the sequel to 1989's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is consistently funny on a sort of addled-Three Stooges level. The plot is flimsy (evil-robot doubles of Val-speaking Bill and Ted go back in time to change history), but the big comic riffs are often inspired — a trip to hell that prompts Bill to note, ''We've been totally lied to by our album covers,'' for example. And Winter and Reeves are, well, frighteningly believable as the out-of-it postadolescent heroes. Besides, any teen comedy that parodies Bergman's The Seventh Seal (the heroes play Twister, rather than chess, with Death) is worth a rental. B
