Two questions: 1) Has Madonna decided to reveal more about her inner self? 2) Is that possible? The daring diva is currently working with her court photographer of the moment, Steven Meisel, on a ''project'' in an undecided medium. At least that's how her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, describes it. The collaboration is rumored to be an illustrated book of Madonna's sexual fantasies, but Rosenberg would only say, ''I guess that would have to be an encyclopedia.''
One hangout that's likely to serve as a field for her dreams is the Gaiety, a male burlesque theater in New York City where she was reportedly spotted in drag in November, taking in the stage show in the company of Meisel and Truth or Dare director Alek Keshishian. In December, she held a dancers' audition at the Gaiety for an unspecified purpose, and last week she took over the place for a pictorial play day.
Meisel, whose Madonna photos have appeared in Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and Entertainment Weekly, was not available for comment. But security on their present photo fest is supposedly so tight that Madonna has hired someone just to pick up discarded Polaroids for safekeeping. It's a sure bet, though, that she's not hoarding them for an upcoming commercial with James Garner.
