Two alternative-rock albums in the top 10? That's one surprise we've had lately, the two alternative bands being Nirvana, of course, and U2. Yes, U2 was a grand arena act when last heard from in 1989. But on its current Achtung + Baby, the group turned away from the lofty style that brought it mass acclaim, and moved back toward its grunge-rock roots. Right in the middle of the top 10, meanwhile, sit two current hot teen acts, Color Me Badd and Boyz II Men, soaring while charges of musical phoniness roil former (can it be?) teen idols, the New Kids on the Block. And for classic-rock fans, we have the old dudes in Genesis, reentering the top 10 after landing there briefly back in December. LAST POP ALBUMS WEEKS ON WEEK CHART
