Keith Jarrett: Last Solo

Details Rated: Unrated; Genre: Musical; With: Keith Jarrett

Best known for his improvised solo concerts, pianist Keith Jarrett has said he has no plan when he steps on stage — he simply allows his formidable technique, gorgeous tone, and spontaneity to take over. In this 1984 Tokyo performance, titled Keith Jarrett: Last Solo, this results in some transcendent moments as well as a lot of time waiting for something to happen. Jarrett is, to say the least, animated — foot stomping, ecstatic moaning, and facial contortions are all part of the package. Recommended for those who like performance art with their piano playing.
