Best known for his improvised solo concerts, pianist Keith Jarrett has said he has no plan when he steps on stage he simply allows his formidable technique, gorgeous tone, and spontaneity to take over. In this 1984 Tokyo performance, titled Keith Jarrett: Last Solo, this results in some transcendent moments as well as a lot of time waiting for something to happen. Jarrett is, to say the least, animated foot stomping, ecstatic moaning, and facial contortions are all part of the package. Recommended for those who like performance art with their piano playing. B
