THIS ONE'S FOR ELTON

Maybe it's the hit single ''The One.'' Maybe it's the stadium tour with Eric Clapton. Maybe it's the soda-pop commercials. Or maybe, just maybe, it's the new hair. Whatever the cause, Elton John this week makes an appearance on the pop-album top 10 for the first time since 1976. At the upper reaches of the chart, things look very familiar-this week's top four albums were last week's * top four, and the week-before-that's top four. Meanwhile, on the country side, Travis Tritt's newest may spell t-r-o-u-b-l-e when it comes to its title, but not when it comes to the country chart, where it debuts at No. 6.
