''I wear tight clothing/And high-heeled shoes,'' wails one of En Vogue's four sassy singers. ''That doesn't mean that I'm a prostitute.'' These sweet-voiced women have no qualms about strutting their stuff for the TV masses, and the three clips compiled on En Vogue: Funky Divas, all from the group's recent hit album of the same name, are Godiva-quality eye candy. Sure, the songs could be sharper the best one is the sultry Curtis Mayfield-penned ''Giving Him Something He Can Feel,'' and ''My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)'' has a cool, mantra-like hook. But songs aren't really the point with En Vogue.
The strongest impression one gets from the interviews included here is that these women most emphatically did not hone their harmonies in a schoolyard; the quartet is a totally manufactured one. Footage of the funky divas in rehearsal, sans wigs, costumes, and makeup, reveals that in ''real life'' they look nothing like their video selves which, strangely, renders the illusion that much more satisfying.
