He has a body of death, and he has sold tons of records, but like Aretha, all Marky Mark wants is respect. You Gotta Believe is filled with bleating pleas to be taken seriously. But Mark is sorely deficient in the two key hip-hop disciplines: He can't rhyme and he can't rap. And when Mark decides to make statements (as on the acoustic ''American Dream''), he's more dopey than dope. D+
