Bad-boy Parisian designer Jean-Paul Gaultier is known for his outspoken fashion statements so at a recent gala benefit for the American Foundation for AIDS Research, staged in L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium, the maestro naturally outdid himself for the cause. As part of the evening's proceedings dinner for 850 guests, disco dancing, and a slick runway show Gaultier dressed Billy Idol, Raquel Welch, and Lady Kier Kirby in his fantastic undies and fixture fashions. Of course Madonna stole the show. Total shock value for AmFAR: $750,000.
