Producer Brian Grazer estimates that he spends 3 to 3.5 hours a day on the portable Motorola phone that he keeps stashed in his '58 Corvette. Why, just the other day his partner at Imagine Films, Ron Howard, reached him via Motorola as Grazer was exiting the Pacific Ocean after an early-morning surfing session. ''I am so much on my car phone,'' Grazer says, California surfer-style, ''it blows the mind.'' What would he do if he were temporarily phone impaired? ''Oh, jeez,'' he gasps, ''I'd have to go to work.''
