King of Hearts (1992)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Roy Orbison; Genre: Rock

When he died in 1988, ''the Voice'' left behind enough unfinished material to just about fill up an album; thus this respectfully assembled posthumous coda. While uneven, King of Hearts is certainly welcome — both for the inclusion of that otherworldly ''Crying'' duet with k.d. lang and for the spine-tingling ''Love in Time,'' with which the track's producer and guitarist Robbie Robertson may have earned himself a ticket to the promised land.
