Even though it boasts a Stephen King script, this supernatural thriller is barely average Halloween fare. What saves it is the above-average cast: Alice Krige and Brian Krause are incestuous cat people who prey on lovely young virgins; Mädchen Amick (Twin Peaks) is their next innocent victim; Cindy Pickett (St. Elsewhere) and Ron Perlman (Beauty and the Beast) are among those who get mauled along the way. Early on, this small-screen-friendly ensemble brings fresh blood to a stale idea. But then Stephen King's Sleepwalkerslurches into overdrive, charging toward a finale full of juvenile jokes and cheap-shock FX. For added laughs, King himself makes an appearance as a cemetery caretaker, though his time might have been better spent on a rewrite. C+
