Out to prove that she's more than the ''Black Velvet'' girl, blues rocker Alannah Myles expands stylistically this time — into Joni Mitchell's Blue balladry and arena-rattling funk-rock hybrids. Though Rockinghorse conforms to corporate-rock production code, the combination of Myles' wrenching vocals and meatier, Chris Whitley-influenced songwriting is, at times, electrifying. B
