Meat-and-potatoes Bob Dylan and distinctly appealing for that. British journalist Richard Williams sticks to the facts of Dylan's career, weaving them around a surprisingly novel array of photographs and providing candid assessments of the musician's products and performances. Dylan: A Man Called Alias is a sane and confident book Dylan might appreciate. B+
