The Texas Tornados' third album, Hangin' on by a Thread, finds them still mixing '50s-style rock & roll with spritely Tex-Mex accordion tunes that sound like dance music for Chihuahuas. But now they've added chauvinism to the pot, taking a food-sex analogy on ''Guacamole'' to an indigestible extreme with the line ''I grabbed her tomatoes.'' Thanks, no. Pass the bicarb. C+
