Live: The Way We Walk Volume One: The Shorts (1992)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Lead Performance: Genesis; Genre: Rock

It's still a great joke that Genesis auditioned more than 100 singers in the mid-'70s before letting drummer Phil Collins take over the vocals. This collection of hits (''Invisible Touch,'' ''That's All'') is long on infectious riffs and melodies. The band's pretentious prog-rock meanderings have been reserved for another live album, ''The Longs,'' due in January, but I'll stick with Live: The Way We Walk Volume One: The Shorts. B
