A colossal chart event hits us this week. After spending much of the past year at No. 1 or No. 2, M.C. Hammer (perhaps the pop sensation of 1990) has fallen all the way down to No. 4, supplanted by Madonna. Vanilla Ice continues his long reign at No. 1, and with Hammer now most likely starting to fade, we can say farewell with a striking statistic: With 14 million albums sold between them, these two pop rappers, M.C.
