Mozart's first opera, Bastien and Bastienne written when he was 11 opens with a theme that Beethoven later put to good use in the Eroica Symphony. That musical coincidence notwithstanding, it's a sweet, slight, thoroughly amazing work that unmistakably heralds the genius of music's greatest talent.
