Sheer hell. Dan Aykroyd wrote and directed Nothing But Trouble, an elbow-in-the-ribs horror comedy about a pair of highway travelers (Chevy Chase and Demi Moore) who are taken prisoner in a gonzo spookhouse. The place is presided over by J.P. (played by Aykroyd under several pounds of latex), an ancient, rotting ''judge'' who cackles with pleasure as he puts his captives through a variety of low-camp sadistic pranks. Most of the jokes are so lame that Chevy Chase can't even be bothered to look nonchalant. A sadder excuse for a movie would be hard to imagine.
