Inspired by the changes in their country during the Thatcher years — the rapid expansion of the middle class and the equally rapid increase of poverty and despair — British photographers have begun to document the new customs of their country. Based on an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, British Photography from the Thatcher Years suggests that Britain has changed more in the last 11 years than in any equivalent period since the onset of the industrial revolution.
