With the exception of Mobsters, the young-gun thriller that shot its way into second place with a decent $6.03 million take, it was a week of shockingly poor openings. Three major-studio releases-V.I. Warshawski, Life Stinks, and Another You-actually failed to crack the top 10, despite playing on at least 865 screens apiece. Boyz N the Hood and Regarding Henry continued to generate strong numbers, as did 101 Dalmatians, the latest lucrative Disney rerelease. And Terminator 2 swept past Robin Hood to become the top-grossing film of the summer. WEEKEND TOP TEN GROSS WEEKS IN GROSS* TO DATE RELEASE
