The greatest sleeper ever sold, Orson Welles' masterpiece Citizen Kane is finally a top-of-the-chart hit, 50 years after the lukewarm box office of its original theatrical release. Despite a botched video transfer that diminishes its picture quality, Turner's anniversary edition of Kane climbs to the No. 2 spot on the sales chart. On the rental chart, meanwhile, Home Alone and Dances With Wolves continue their dual domination. But off the top 10, down at No. 25, there's something most unusual: the sexy French thriller La Femme Nikita, with the strongest showing by a foreign film since Cinema Paradiso (which had an Oscar to help it out).
