Considering there are already two Billy Joel concert videos on the market, might two more not be overkill? In the case of A Matter of Trust, a combination concert tape and documentary of the singer's 1987 trip to the USSR, not really. It is, in fact, a surprisingly informative and moving package. Joel, who doesn't usually come across as the world's most sensitive guy, obviously knows he's witnessing something important, and throughout the tour he appropriately, and endearingly, drops his streetwise-rock-star pose. The tape's best moment is an encounter with a Georgian a cappella group singing a heavily accented American spiritual while Joel and the band look on in awe. A-
