What a Woman Wants to Hear (1991)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Lead Performance: Dawn Sears; Genre: Country

When your name evokes a dishwashing detergent and a department store, you'd better have something else to turn people's heads. Luckily for Dawn Sears, on What a Woman Wants to Hear, she shows talent in spades, applying her emotive voice — two parts Reba McEntire, one part Shelby Lynne — to a solid repertoire of ballads (''Tell Me I'm Crazy''), blues (''Could Be the Mississippi''), and Western swing (''No More Tears''). B+
