Dark Shadows Music Videos (1991)

This frightful compilation of ''music videos'' is actually a string of random clips from the TV series resynched to Robert Cobert's score and occasional voice-overs by star Jonathan Frid. Without those little MTV identifications at the bottom left of the screen, it's not immediately apparent what's going on here, and some of these alleged videos are so brief as to be surreal — a snippet in which somebody sings ''Happy Birthday,'' for example. Dark Shadows producer Dan Curtis and MPI Video seem to feel that the cult following of the late-'60s vampire-gothic soap opera is undiscriminating enough to lap up anything they dish out. D-
