The Last of the Finest (1990)

EW's GRADE
F

Details Rated: R; Genres: Action/Adventure, Drama, Mystery and Thriller; With: Brian Dennehy; Distributor: Orion Pictures

Scene for humdrum scene, The Last of the Finest may be the dullest thriller ever made — it's like some dawdling Albanian police movie shown without subtitles. The film is dead from the opening credits, and it features a bit of Cold War hugger-mugger that makes The Hunt for Red October look timely: The villains here are trying to arm the contras. (Good luck, guys.) The Last of the Finest doesn't deserve to take up space on a video-store shelf, let alone a theater screen.F
