But there's no controlling the country's appetite for Simpsons stuff. Burger King reportedly plans a campaign this summer (cups and bendable toys). And Bart and company already star in Butterfinger candy-bar commercials. ''When they first showed the commercials (last June), people thought it was cute but asked, 'Who are these people?''' says Laurie Rossman of the New York advertising agency Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor Inc. ''Now they're second nature to everybody.''
