Sharon Stone is in full comeback mode. Days after reports emerged that she's close to signing on to two independent movies, she's now signed to star in her first big-studio feature in three years, the thriller ''Cold Creek Manor,'' according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In ''Manor,'' which is expected to go into production shortly, Stone and Dennis Quaid would play a couple who find the perfect country home, only to have to fight off the ex-convict who used to own the house and wants it back. Mike Figgis (''Timecode,'' ''Leaving Las Vegas'') is directing. Disney's Touchstone is producing, making ''Manor'' the first major-studio movie for Stone since Columbia Pictures released her ''Gloria'' in 1999.
After ''Manor,'' Stone is expected to make two indie biopics. In ''A Different Loyalty,'' she'd play the American-born wife of British double-agent Kim Philby (Rupert Everett). In ''The Liar's Club,'' based on the best-selling memoir by Mary Karr, she'd play the matriarch of Karr's dysfunctional Texas family.
