ALL IN THE FAMILY Sitcom ''Tuscon'' features a clan of mixed heritage

GREETINGS FROM TUCSON Friday, 9:30 p.m.

THE PITCH ''The Jeffersons'' meets ''The George Lopez Show.''

THE PLOT A mixed-race couple (the husband is Mexican-American, the wife is Irish-American) and their kids encounter both prejudice and acceptance in a middle-class neighborhood. Teenager David (''American Family'''s Pablo Santos) is the lead.

OBLIGATORY TEEN-GIRL STAR There are two: David's Daddy's-girl sister Maria (Aimee Garcia, also an ''American Family'' vet); and his ultra-sweet, ultra-blond love interest, Sarah (new face Jamie Strange).

POP SOUNDTRACK The Rolling Stones' ''Salt of the Earth'' and a new theme song by Los Lobos

SAMPLE DIALOGUE ''I wish this father-son moment would last forever. Oh wait, it is.''

ENVELOPE PUSHING Little to none.

WHY IT MIGHT SUCCEED There aren't many competing shows with Latin-American themes.

WHY IT MIGHT FAIL There ARE a lot of competing family-based sitcoms.
