In soaps, where chiseled hunks reign supreme, 38-inch-tall Josh Ryan Evans was an original. The actor, 20, who died Aug. 5 in San Diego of a congenital heart condition that stunts growth, had a devoted following as Passions' Timmy, an impish living doll. In an eerie coincidence, Timmy also died Aug. 5 -- though he was scheduled to return, Passions-style, as a spirit. (All of Evans' upcoming scenes have been excised, and writers are now mulling new stories.) ''It's hard and laborious work, but I'm doing something that's worth it,'' he told EW last year. ''I'm making people happy.''
