D.J. Qualls' skinny-geek gimmick may have worked in ''Road Trip,'' but his attempt at leading-man likability -- playing a senior-year stooge who reinvents himself as a freshly peroxided badass -- is stretched way too thin here. Throw in inexplicable appearances by the likes of Vanilla Ice and Tommy Lee, and the high school high jinks of The New Guy already feel old.
