No wonder computer-generated figures are becoming some of Hollywood's most popular stars. Maybe animated characters aren't quite ready to replace real people: The new movie ''Simone'' (opening Aug. 23) is about a computer-generated actress (pictured here) who's so lifelike that people think she's human -- but the CG role is actually played by real-life actress Rachel Roberts. Even so, it's getting to the point where animated heroes like Shrek and ''Final Fantasy'''s Aki can seem more believable than some flesh-and-blood actors. (sorry, Keanu) With that in mind, here's a countdown of our eight all-time favorite (and three least favorite) CG characters. |
