CBS
No. 1 in total viewers; No. 2 in 18-to-49
WHAT FLEW No need to examine the Eye's success under a microscope: Witness larger-than-life forensic smash ''CSI'' (No. 1 with 28.7 million viewers) and its David Caruso-led spin-off, ''CSI: Miami'' (7), which ''skillfully retains a lot of the [original's] sensibilities, yet is clearly not a carbon copy,'' observes CBS senior VP Kelly Kahl. ''You can watch both shows in the same week and not feel like you're watching the same show twice.'' ''Miami'' isn't the only Monday monster: No. 4 ''Everybody Loves Raymond'' posted higher ratings for the sixth straight season. And -- dear God -- critical outcast ''Yes, Dear'' (22) now outdraws lead-in ''The King of Queens'' (24). ''We always knew it would,'' Kahl insists of ''Dear.'' ''It was the rest of the country that was behind.'' (Guess the country's still behind on No. 12 ''Still Standing,'' which sends 5 million ''Raymond''-ites running.) Elsewhere, ''Survivor: Thailand'' (5) nets world-class Nielsens, and ''Hack'' is faring pretty well on Fridays at No. 47.
WHAT BLEW Facing killer competition from '','' Michael Mann's detective drama ''Robbery Homicide Division'' is a bust at No. 76. ''It's a tough task pulling people away from a show they already like,'' sighs Kahl, who's trying ''RHD'' on Saturdays this month. ''Presidio Med'' remains on life support at No. 73, while the book has already closed on sitcom ''Bram and Alice'' (59), which consistently lost too much of ''Becker'''s audience. Then again, even ''Becker'' is losing too much of ''Becker'''s audience: The Monday hit dropped to No. 42 after moving to Sunday. (Maybe folks were getting their Ted Danson fix on HBO's ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' instead.)
WHAT THEIR RIVALS ARE SAYING ''They've got a big Monday and Thursday and that covers a lot of their sins.''
MIDSEASON CONTENDERS An adaptation of ''My Big Fat Greek Wedding''; reality series ''The Real Beverly Hillbillies.''
