American Idol: Fox
JUSTIN GUARINI
With ''Let's Stay Together'' and ''Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me'' (the judges' choice), Justin proved that he's much more than a Sideshow Bob look-alike with frantic dance moves and a cheesy flirtation with the camera.
Paula proclaimed his first performance ''phe and nominal'' (who writes her increasingly lame lines?), and she said his second song was ''the best performance'' she's seen him do. Randy concurred with Paula, saying that Justin ''saved it for the end of the competition.'' Simon, after pronouncing the first performance ''superb and brilliant,'' conceded after the second song that ''tonight is the first time I actually looked at you and thought, 'American Idol.'''
