Details Lead Performance: The Go-Betweens

The Go-Betweens are an addiction, like Bob Dylan or Philip Roth; once hooked, you can't get enough. That's why these reissues of their first three albums -- each with an extra CD of rare and unreleased tracks -- are an event. Lullaby may be underdeveloped, but Hollywood and Hill are packed with literate pop musings like ''Cattle and Cane'' and ''Five Words.'' But it's the bonus discs that will really thrill fans, with unreleased demos like ''Emperor's Courtesan,'' ''Newton Told Me,'' and ''A Peaceful Wreck'' ranking with the band's best work. Now where are the next three albums? Lullaby: B Hollywood: A- Hill: A
