A Beautiful Mind costar Paul Bettany isn't worried about being typecast as Russell Crowe's bud. But Peter Weir thought twice about casting him as the Aussie's amigo in the tentatively titled nautical romp Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. ''Peter was worried about it,'' says Bettany, ''and I thought, one, by the time this film comes out, who's ever going to remember that I was in A Beautiful Mind? And, two, who f -- -ing cares?'' But is the actor (whose post-Beautiful life also includes a romance with Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly) leery of spending more time with the rowdy Crowe? ''I'm working with him again and I wouldn't be if I had a bad time,'' says Bettany. In fact, the two have much in common: ''We bond through swearing and doing Peter Cook and Dudley Moore impressions.''
