If you're looking for a primer on the gangs of New York before December's Scorsese epic, pick up Mean Streets. If you want to see a bumbling cast plod busily but emptily through 1950s Brooklyn, try this time waster. Dorff is the heroic head Deuce, whose brother (Renfro) falls for a rival Viper's sister, while the head Viper -- fresh out of prison -- mistakenly seeks Dorff's head for ratting him out. And that's only half the plot. Some of the rest involves Malcolm in the Middle's Frankie Muniz and The Sopranos' Drea de Matteo and Vincent Pastore (Pussy as a priest!), but on a scale of 1 to 10, none of it amounts to more than a deuce.
